The vampire of old age
drains life
from my legs,
weakens my
eyes,
sucks away my
energy
A certain escape:
The doorway
to death
lying inevitably
just
a day or a
decade away
Novelist Online Onpaper offers my thoughts on writing, reading and publishing--and sometimes the world--at the very least on the first of each month and more often by whim. Periodically, I will review novels from the present and the past, published online or on paper. Hopefully, I won't rain on any novelist, especially those seeking their audience without the help of traditional publishers. My novels are available via Kindle, Amazon and Smashwords through my webpage: www.kennethccrowe.com
The vampire of old age
drains life
from my legs,
weakens my
eyes,
sucks away my
energy
A certain escape:
The doorway
to death
lying inevitably
just
a day or a
decade away
All praise
to the authoritarian
and his
sons
No need for
elections
or
demonstrations
or debate
Know there
are places
to put
those enemies
who disagree
The curious
mind thrives
in the age
of the internet
With many
forks in the road
on the
information highway,
each answer
spurs
question
after question,
continuing
until curiosity
is sated or
exhausted
Think of
others,
and so will
I
Yet, we’ll
be together
till we die
Our inner
thoughts
might
center on desire
for those
in our pasts
who set us
on fire
Don’t tell
me,
I won’t
tell you
And, we’ll
live
happily
ever after
